Since its outbreak, scientists in the United Kingdom have been analysing their rapid invasion by monitoring its infestation level. Figures have revealed that the population of these giant rats have increased significantly up to 50% in some affected areas. Genetic testing by Huddersfield University observed that these vermin have developed a mutation that allows them to be immune to conventional pesticides.
Although we do not have this horrific giant rats invasion in Malaysia, it is important to take precautionary steps to prevent rats from infiltrating your home. Besides causing costly damages to your home, rats are also known to spread infectious diseases such as Leptospirosis and Salmonellosis.
