Drywood Termite

Cryptotermes dudley
Families: Kalotermitidae (eg Cryptotermis dudley and C. domesticus)

Drywood Termite

Colonies are normally found in dry wood, very often in the structural timber of buildings. They are less dependent on sources of moisture and need no access to the soil. Palletized droppings are usually found on exit holes of the infested wood. Drywood termites can survive in wood structures with moisture content as low as 10%. This group of termites is found normally along coastal areas where humidity is high.
